Theatre includes: The Merchant of Venice, The Jew of Malta, Measure for Measure, The Revengers Tragedy, A Clockwork Orange (RSC), This House, A Winter’s Tale, Dealers Choice (National Theatre), Fresh Kills (Royal Court), God of Soho, The Knight Of The Burning Pestle, Anthony & Cleopatra (Shakespeare's Globe). Most recently, Phil has just finished a West End run as Thernardier in Les Miserables.

Television includes: Sunnyside Farm, Time Gentlemen Please, Gimme Gimme, Meantime, Outlaws, The Long Firm, and Holding On.. , Sex and Chocolate, One Foot In The Grave, Miss Julie, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, The Pickwick Papers, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Out Of Mecca – The Bride Glitter, and Hanging Around, Nelson, Raven, Idle Hands, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, New Tricks, Waking The Dead and New Tricks. More recently he played Kevin Wickes in EastEnders, and guest starred in Rock & Chips, Poirot, Midsomer Murders, and Sky’s mini-series Moonfleet.
 
Film includes: Quadrophenia, Breaking Glass, Scum, Bad Behaviour, Goodnight Charlie Bright, and the voice of ‘Fletcher’ in the animated film Chicken Run. He has also appeared in Still Crazy, Nasty Neighbours, Billy the Kid &The Green Baize Vampire, The Bride, The Glass of Miss McMichael, Zulu Dawn and most recently, FreeBird, Vinyl and Access All Areas.
 
Phil recorded and tours with Blur, providing a vocal for their huge hit Park Life. He has also sung with The Stranglers and The Who. Phil’s autobiography Class Actor was released in 2011.
